Description

The basics of chemical thermodynamics allow us to determine in which direction chemical processes will go, under what conditions they will occur spontaneously, and how favorable they are in terms of energy. the subject, basic concepts and laws of chemical thermodynamics are studied. concepts of thermodynamic system, environment, internal energy, heat, work, enthalpy, entropy and gibbs free energy are explained. the essence of the i, II and III laws of thermodynamics, energy transformations in chemical processes, thermal effects, conditions for spontaneous reactions and their relation to equilibrium are considered. as a result of mastering the subject, students acquire the ability to analyze the energetics of chemical reactions, make calculations using thermodynamic quantities, and apply the laws of thermodynamics to the explanation of chemical processes.
