Description
The subject covers the main beneficiation methods (flotation, gravity, magnetic, etc.) applied to convert ore and non-ore minerals into industrial raw materials. students study the technological chain from the initial preparation of raw materials to the dehydration of the final product. the course teaches calculation of enrichment indicators (yield, quality) and technological management of processing processes.
Course learning outcomes
CLO 1: At the end of the course, the student has a deep knowledge of the main beneficiation methods used to convert ore and non-ore minerals into industrial raw materials. the student learns the physico-chemical basis of gravitation, flotation, magnetic and electric separation methods and technological schemes of these processes. the course covers the processes from the initial preparation of raw materials (crushing, grinding, classification) to the dewatering of the final product in the beneficiation factory. the student is able to calculate the technological indicators of beneficiation (yield, quality, extraction rate) and analyze the efficiency. as a result, the student gets a complete engineering training in the processing of mineral raw materials.
