This subject studies the internal atomic-crystalline structure of minerals, their physical and chemical properties. students learn to recognize minerals by their defining characteristics (color, hardness, shape) and their distribution in ore deposits. the course helps to choose the most optimal processing methods by knowing the mineralogical composition of raw materials.

   CLO 1: Through this subject, the student deeply studies the geometric structure of crystal lattices, the internal structure of minerals, and the relationship between their physical and chemical properties. at the end of the course, the student is able to recognize crystal systems, optical and physical properties (color, luster, hardness, separation) necessary for the determination of minerals. the subject covers the classification of various mineral groups (silicates, sulfides, oxides, etc.) and their distribution patterns in the earth's crust. the student determines the location of minerals in ore deposits and their effect on beneficiation. thus, the student acquires the ability to choose the most optimal processing methods by knowing the mineralogical composition of raw materials.
