Description
The subject involves the formation of fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the design, construction, configuration and management of computer networks. within the subject, network architecture and main components, OSI and tcp/ip models, network protocols, ipv4 and ipv6 addressing and subnetting are studied. basic information is provided on lan, wlan, MAN and other types of networks, as well as radio and satellite-based wireless communication technologies. students are introduced to the principles of vlans, network segmentation, inter-vlan routing, static and dynamic routing. it also covers the principles of operation and configuration of cisco network equipment, and basic network security mechanisms such as firewalls, acls, and vpns. the subject is aimed at developing practical skills in building, configuring and evaluating the performance of local networks using cisco packet tracer, gns3 and real network equipment, as well as forming network knowledge of students at the level of cisco ccna.
