Bachelor's programme
Military communications engineering
About the programme
Military communications engineering is an engineering specialty that integrates communications technologies with military applications. the main goal of this field is the training of specialists who can create, improve and operate technical systems that provide reliable, stable and uninterrupted information exchange in various conditions. since the specialty is formed at the intersection of radioelectronics, telecommunications and information technologies, graduates master the working principles of both communication equipment and technological solutions that connect them as a single system. engineers in this field must be able to evaluate not only the technical characteristics of communication devices, but also the factors that determine their reliability, compatibility and efficient operation in various operating conditions. therefore, the major combines fundamental engineering training with applied knowledge and forms the necessary basis for the analysis and development of complex radioelectronic systems. the rapid development of digital communication technologies, automated control systems and radio-electronic means increases the relevance of this specialty even more. the knowledge and skills acquired in this direction are considered a reliable basis for the assimilation of modern technological innovations, scientific activity and professional development.
Degree requirements
The "military communications engineering" undergraduate program is taught over a period of 4 years (8 semesters), and students are required to accumulate 240 ECTS credits to graduate. the curriculum is designed in accordance with the european credit transfer and collection system (ects) and is based on the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical engineering skills. the content of the program consists of 30 ECTS general education subjects, 30 ECTS fundamental (base) engineering subjects, 120 ECTS vocational training subjects and 60 ECTS vocational training elective subjects. this structure provides students with both solid fundamental engineering training and in-depth specialist knowledge of military communications systems. the curriculum includes subjects on higher mathematics, physics, basics of electrical circuits, signals and systems, analog and digital communication, radio transmitter and receiver devices, antenna-feeder systems, diagnostics and reliability of military radio communication tools, design and technology of military communication tools, programming, design and technology of military communication tools, information security and modern military communication technologies. the teaching process is supported by lectures, laboratory exercises, industrial experience and other applied activities. at the end of the program, the graduates acquire the professional competences in the design, construction, operation, maintenance, diagnostics and modernization of modern communication and radio electronic systems and have the necessary training to work in the defense industry, telecommunications sector and scientific research.
