Fənnin tədrisinin əsas məqsədini tələbələrə seçmə müayinələrin layihələndirilməsinin əsas anlayışlarını öyrətmək, sosial-iqtisadi proseslər üzərində seçmə müayinələrin təhlilini aparmaqdır. bu fənn mikro və makro səviyyələr seçmə müayinələrin layihələndirilməsinin tətbiqindən bəhs edir. fənnin tədrisinin məqsədi baş verən sosial-iqtisadi hadisə və proseslərin təhlilini, yaranma səbəblərinin araşdırılmasını, kəmiyyət və keyfiyyət dəyişikliklərinin öyrənilməsini;zamana görə struktur dəyişikliklərinin üzə çıxarılmasını; inkişaf dinamikasının müəyyən olunmasını; əhalinin həyat səviyyəsini xarakterizə edən və bir-biri ilə qarşılıqlı əlaqəli olan statistik göstəricilər sisteminin müəyyən edilməsini; qanunauyğunluqların üzə çıxarılmasını və analitik düşüncə tərzini formalaşdırmaqdır
