Course learning outcomes (CLO)

  1. CLO 1: Students will learn the thermal technical basics of heating units and melting furnaces used in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, gas and mixture dynamics. they will be able to mathematically calculate the heat and material balance of blast furnace, marten, arc and induction furnaces, as well as understand the properties of refractory linings. regulation of combustion processes, heat regeneration and methods of efficient use of waste gas energy (environmental engineering) will be among the main research objects. at the end of the course, students will have the ability to increase the efficiency of metallurgical furnaces and adapt their construction to the requirements of the current technological process.
