Description

The subject teaches preliminary preparatory work and design, which are carried out before the industrial exploitation of mineral deposits. the technologies of construction of opening drillings, formation of production horizons in mine and quarry conditions are taught here. the course covers the basics of engineering preparatory works that ensure production efficiency and work safety.

Course learning outcomes

  1. CLO 1: At the end of the subject, the student is able to design preliminary preparatory works necessary for opening the fields for operation and extracting them from below and above the ground. the student learns the technologies of deposit preparation, placement of opening drills and formation of production horizons in both quarry (open) and mine (underground) conditions. the course covers methods of maintaining the integrity of rock formations, transportation systems and the initial construction of a ventilation network (for glaciers). the student applies the scientific and technical basis of preparatory works that ensure production efficiency and work safety. thus, the student has all the engineering training necessary to start industrial operation of the field.
