Description
This subject teaches the impact of mechanical, physical and thermal properties of rocks (hardness, elasticity, abrasiveness, etc.) on their destruction processes. students master the optimization of drilling and blasting modes taking into account rock properties. the subject scientifically analyzes the relationship between the internal structure of rocks and their technological behavior.
Course learning outcomes
CLO 1: Within this subject, the student studies the physical, mechanical, thermal, electrical and magnetic properties of mountain rocks and their influence on mining processes. at the end of the course, the student is able to determine parameters such as hardness, plasticity, elasticity, abrasiveness of rocks and evaluate their role in drilling, blasting and grinding. the subject covers the relationship between the internal structure of rocks and their macroscopic physical properties. taking into account these properties, the student makes the right choice of mining equipment and optimization of technological modes. thus, the student acquires the ability to predict the behavior of mountain rocks on a scientific basis.
