About the subject
Its content can be divided into two parts: reaction kinetics and reactor design and analysis. new knowledge is gained about the classification of chemical reactors, operating mode of reactors used in heterogeneous processes, technological calculations, and kinetic criteria. reaction engineering studies the changes in variables within a reactor so that reactor conditions and operations can be optimized to achieve the best economics. this is reactor design and analysis. we can say that reaction kinetics are related to a specific location or "point" within the reactor, and reactor design and analysis uses this localized information to optimize the entire reactor.

Course learning outcomes (CLO)
CLO 1: Explains the basic concepts, purpose and role of chemical reaction engineering in the chemical industry.
CLO 2: Analyzes chemical reaction kinetics, reaction mechanisms, and factors affecting reaction rates.
CLO 3: It compares the working principles of different types of chemical reactors (batch, continuous, ideal mixing and tubular reactors) and defines the fields of application.
CLO 4: Performs engineering calculations based on material balance and kinetic equations for chemical reactions.
CLO 5: Selects the appropriate type of reactor for a certain technological process and evaluates its mode of operation from technical, economic and safety points of view.
CLO 6: Makes informed decisions to solve industrial problems by applying reaction engineering principles to the design and optimization of chemical reactions.
