About the subject

Radiasiya təhlükəsizliyi insanların və ətraf mühitin radiasiyanın zərərli təsirlərindən qorunmasını təmin edən tədbirlər sistemidir. bu təhlükəsizlik qaydaları radiasiya mənbələri ilə işləyən zaman tətbiq olunur. məqsəd insan sağlamlığını və təbiəti qorumaqdır. radiasiya təhlükəsizliyi üçün xüsusi qoruyucu vasitələrdən istifadə edilir. təhlükəsizlik qaydalarına riayət etmək radiasiya riskini azaldır.

Topic plan

  1. 1.
    Ionizing radiation 1. radioactivity. 2. ionization. 3. units of radioactivity. (m). (s)Lecture

Ionizing radiation is a type of high-energy radiation capable of ionizing atoms and molecules. this radiation includes alpha, beta, gamma rays, x-rays and neutron radiation. although ionizing radiation is widely used in the fields of medicine, industry, science and energy, high doses can pose a threat to human health and the environment. the effect of radiation depends on the dose, duration of exposure and the organ exposed to radiation. therefore, compliance with radiation safety rules and the use of personal protective equipment are of great importance.

  2. 2.
Law of radioactive decay 1. half-life 2. radioactivity constantLecture

Radioactivity constant (λ) is a physical quantity that characterizes the probability of decay of a radioactive nucleus within a certain time. this constant is different for each radioactive isotope and determines the decay rate. the greater the radioactivity constant, the faster the decay of the substance. this indicator is widely used in the calculation of radioactive decay and determination of activity.

  3. 3.
Types and properties of ionizing radiation 1. - radiation - radiation - radiation.Lecture

Ionizing radiation is high-energy radiation capable of ionizing atoms and molecules. the main types are alpha (α), beta (β) and gamma (γ) radiation. these radiations differ from each other in terms of penetration, ionization power and sources. although they are used in medicine, industry and scientific research, high doses can pose a threat to human health. therefore, radiation protection rules must be strictly followed.

  4. 4.
Main features of biological effects of ionizing radiation.Seminar

Ionizing radiation is a type of high-energy radiation capable of ionizing atoms and molecules. this radiation includes alpha, beta, gamma rays, x-rays and neutron radiation. although ionizing radiation is widely used in the fields of medicine, industry, science and energy, high doses can pose a threat to human health and the environment. the effect of radiation depends on the dose, duration of exposure and the organ exposed to radiation. therefore, compliance with radiation safety rules and the use of personal protective equipment are of great importance.

  5. 5.
    Ionizing radiation detectorsLecture

Ionizing radiation detectors are devices used to detect and measure levels of alpha (α), beta (β), gamma (γ) and other ionizing radiation. these detectors allow to determine the type, intensity and dose rate of radiation. the most widely used detectors include the geiger–müller counter, ionization chamber, scintillation detectors, and semiconductor detectors. they are widely used in the fields of medicine, nuclear energy, industry, ecology and scientific research. regular measurement of the radiation level plays an important role in ensuring the safety of people and the environment.

  6. 6.
    Ionization chambersLecture

Ionization chambers are one of the main radiation detectors used to detect and measure ionizing radiation. their working principle is based on the measurement of the ionization caused by the radiation in the gaseous medium. the ions generated inside the chamber move towards the electrodes under the influence of the electric field, and the level of radiation is determined by measuring the generated current. ionization chambers are highly accurate and are used to measure x-rays, gamma rays, and other ionizing radiations. these devices are widely used in the fields of medicine, nuclear power, industry and radiation safety

  7. 7.
Sources of radioactive waste 1. nuclear reactor decommissioning 2. use of isotope products in medicine and economySeminar

Radioactive waste is radioactive substances resulting from the activities of nuclear technologies, medicine, industry and scientific research. these wastes have different levels of radioactivity and can pose a threat to the environment and human health. the main sources of radioactive waste include nuclear energy, enterprises using radioisotopes, medical and scientific laboratories. their safe collection, transportation, processing and storage are the main requirements of radiation safety.

  8. 8.
Effects of radioactive waste on people and the environmentLecture

Radioactive waste poses a serious threat to human health and the environment due to the presence of substances that emit ionizing radiation. these wastes can contaminate air, water and soil, causing radioactive substances to enter the food chain. human exposure to high doses of radiation can result in radiation sickness, cancer, genetic changes and other health problems. in order to prevent the effects of radioactive waste, their safe collection, transportation, storage and disposal should be carried out according to special rules. compliance with radiation safety measures is important for the protection of the environment and people.
