Fənnin təsviri

The course is designed to develop students’ fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the design, construction, configuration, and management of computer networks. The course covers network architecture and major components, the OSI and TCP/IP models, network protocols, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, and subnetting. Students are introduced to LAN, WLAN, MAN, and other types of networks, as well as basic information about radio-wave and satellite-based wireless communication technologies. Students become familiar with VLANs, network segmentation, inter-VLAN routing, and the principles of static and dynamic routing. The course also covers the operating principles and configuration of Cisco networking equipment, as well as fundamental network security mechanisms such as firewalls, Access Control Lists (ACLs), and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs). The course aims to develop practical skills in building, configuring, and evaluating the efficiency of local area networks using Cisco Packet Tracer, GNS3, and real networking equipment, while also developing students’ networking knowledge at the Cisco CCNA level.
