The history of azerbaijan is one of the disciplines that plays a vital role in developing a sense of patriotism among students, as well as in their development as citizens and individuals. the academic discipline “history of azerbaijan” covers the social, economic, socio-political and cultural history of the azerbaijani people, from ancient times to the present day. she studies the problems that the people faced at various stages of their history, the ancient traditions of azerbaijani statehood, the fight against foreign invaders, the national liberation movement for independence, the heroism shown along this path, the genocides committed against the azerbaijani people, as well as the restoration of the state independence of azerbaijan, the strengthening of its sovereignty and the history of restoring the territorial integrity of the country. in this regard, teaching the discipline “history of azerbaijan” is especially relevant.
