Fənnin tədrisinin əsas məqsədini tələbələrə statistik modelləşdirmənin əsas anlayışlarını öyrətmək, müşahidələrə "statistik model yaratmaq" yanaşma bacarığını aşılamaqdır. bu fənn ümumi statistik biliklərin əsasını ehtiva etməklə, mikro və makro səviyyələrdə statistik modelləşdirmə haqqında təməl biliklərdən bəhs edir.
