Description

The course Public Finance consists of a total workload of 6 ECTS credits and is scheduled for delivery in the first semester of the study program. The course provides 60 classroom hours, of which 30 hours are allocated to lectures and 30 hours to practical classes. In addition, students are expected to complete 40 hours of independent study (TSI), which covers preparation for lectures, seminars, laboratory classes, colloquiums, as well as the performance and submission of individual assignments. Within the framework of independent study, students are assigned between one and five individual tasks, or alternatively, one task may be given to groups consisting of two to five students. Each independent task is assessed on a 10-point scale, contributing a total of 10 points to the semester grade. In cases where it is deemed necessary, students may be assigned a single independent task of greater scope and scientific content, which is likewise graded on a 10-point scale. The overall assessment structure of the course is based on continuous evaluation and a final examination. Attendance accounts for 10 points, practical classes and colloquiums account for 30 points, and independent tasks account for 10 points. The remaining 50 points are allocated to the final examination, which is conducted at the end of the semester. Successful completion of the course requires passing this examination.
