Fənnin təsviri

The course is designed to develop students’ fundamental knowledge and practical skills in the theoretical foundations of cryptography and modern cryptographic methods and algorithms. Within the framework of the course, the history of the emergence and development of cryptography, its role and relevance in modern information security, its main application areas, and existing challenges are studied. The role of cryptographic mechanisms in ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity is examined. Traditional and modern encryption methods, symmetric, asymmetric, and hybrid cryptographic approaches, block and stream ciphers, public-key cryptosystems, and the fundamental operating principles of advanced cryptographic algorithms are explored. In addition, the assessment of the security of cryptographic algorithms and cryptanalysis, the provision of authentication through cryptographic methods, key management, and the practical application of cryptographic mechanisms in real-world systems are studied. The course aims to develop students’ ability to compare different cryptographic methods, select an appropriate cryptographic approach according to specific security requirements, and evaluate the practical implementation characteristics of such approaches.
