The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) course covers the fundamental principles of the design, integration, and implementation of IoT systems in industrial environments. Within the scope of the course, students study the architecture and key components of Industrial IoT systems, as well as the operating principles of sensors and actuators and their integration into industrial systems. The course examines networking and communication technologies used in industrial environments, together with IoT communication protocols and platforms, their characteristics, and application areas. Students acquire knowledge and practical skills in data acquisition and transmission from sensors, establishing device-to-device communication using various communication protocols, and processing data through edge computing and cloud-based technologies. The practical component of the course emphasizes the development of sensor- and actuator-based systems, the application of industrial communication technologies and protocols, and the implementation of Industrial IoT solutions. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to analyze Industrial IoT systems within the context of the Industry 4.0 paradigm, select appropriate communication technologies and protocols, and design and implement basic Industrial IoT solutions.
